DAY 1 : FROM MARRAKECH TO DADES GORGES

We pick you up in Marrakech and start our journey towards the Dades Gorges, crossing the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260 m). On the way, we will enjoy spectacular landscapes and pass traditional Berber villages. We stop to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, one of the most famous ksars in Morocco. Then we continue to Ouarzazate to visit Taourirt Kasbah and have lunch. In the afternoon, we head southeast through the Valley of Roses and the palm groves of Skoura before reaching Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight stay in a local riad/hotel.

DAY 2 : FROM DADES GORGES TO MERZOUGA DESERT

After breakfast, we explore the Dades Valley, then drive towards Tinghir and the impressive Todra Gorges, where we will take a walk along its canyon. We continue our trip through palm groves to Erfoud, famous for fossils. After a possible visit to a fossil workshop, we drive on to Rissani and finally reach the Merzouga Sahara Desert. Tonight, you will stay in a desert hotel with dinner and breakfast included.

DAY 3 : MERZOUGA DESERT TOUR

Today we dedicate the day to discovering the desert. By 4×4 we explore the Merzouga region, visiting Khamlia village, home of the Gnawa people, where we will enjoy their traditional music. We continue to meet Nomadic families living in the desert and share lunch with them. In the afternoon, we prepare for an unforgettable camel trek into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will admire the sunset over the Sahara, have dinner, and spend the night in a desert camp under Nomad tents.

DAY 4 : FROM MERZOUGA DESERT TO OUARZAZATE

We wake up early to watch the magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast and a camel ride back to the village, we depart for Ouarzazate. On the way, we pass through Rissani, the Draa Valley with its palm groves, and the town of Agdez. In Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Africa,” we enjoy dinner and spend the night in a local hotel.

DAY 5 : FROM OUARZAZATE TO MARRAKECH

After breakfast, we start our return journey to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains again via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. Arrival in Marrakech marks the end of your 5 days Sahara Desert tour.
