This 3-day desert adventure takes you from Marrakech to Fes through some of Morocco’s most spectacular landscapes. Cross the High Atlas Mountains, visit the UNESCO-listed Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, explore the breathtaking Dades and Todra Gorges, and experience a magical night in the Merzouga desert with a camel trek and Berber camp stay. The journey continues through the Ziz Valley, Midelt, Azrou, and Ifrane, before arriving in the cultural city of Fes.
Day 1: Marrakech ➝ Ait Ben Haddou ➝ Ouarzazate ➝ Roses Valley ➝ Dades Gorges
Departure from Marrakech in the morning, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m). Along the way, pass charming Berber villages and fertile valleys such as Oued Tamesna. Stop at the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its unique architecture and film appearances. Continue to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s film capital, then travel through Skoura and the Roses Valley before arriving at Dades Gorges. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Dades.
Day 2: Dades ➝ Todra Gorges ➝ Erfoud ➝ Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, the journey continues to the dramatic Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs attract climbers from around the world. Drive through palm groves and villages until reaching Erfoud, famous for its fossils. Arrival in Merzouga, where camels will be waiting to take you on a sunset trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Overnight in a Berber desert camp, with traditional dinner, music, and stargazing.
Day 3: Merzouga ➝ Erfoud ➝ Ziz Valley ➝ Midelt ➝ Azrou ➝ Ifrane ➝ Fes
Wake up early to admire the sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. Ride camels or transfer back to the village before continuing the journey through Erfoud and the lush Ziz Valley. Pass through Errachidia and Midelt, then cross the Middle Atlas Mountains via Azrou, home to cedar forests and wild monkeys, and Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Arrival in Fes in the afternoon, marking the end of the tour.
