Embark on a captivating 3-day adventure from Ouarzazate to the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Travel along the famous Route of the Thousand Kasbahs, explore lush valleys, dramatic gorges, and Berber villages, and experience the magic of the desert. Ride camels across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, spend a night under the starry sky in a traditional Berber camp, and return via the historic Draa Valley and the scenic Anti-Atlas mountains.
Day 1: Ouarzazate ➝ Skoura ➝ Valley of Roses ➝ Boutghrar ➝ Dades Valley ➝ Todra Gorges
Pick up from your accommodation in Ouarzazate after breakfast. Drive through the Skoura palm grove and the Route of the Thousand Kasbahs, stopping at Kasbah Amrédhyle. Continue to the Valley of Roses, visiting nomads in caves for tea and conversation about their lifestyle. Proceed to the Dades Valley, visiting Kasbah Ait Youl, followed by the Todra Gorges. Dinner and overnight stay in the gorges.
Day 2: Todra Gorges ➝ Tinjdad ➝ Erfoud ➝ Rissani ➝ Merzouga
Morning walk through the stunning Todra Gorges. Depart towards Tinjdad and Touroug for lunch. Continue to Erfoud, known for marble and fossils, and then to Merzouga. Enjoy Moroccan tea, then ride camels into the dunes to watch a spectacular sunset over Erg Chebbi. Dinner and overnight in a Berber Khaima desert camp under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga ➝ Rissani ➝ Nkob ➝ Alnif ➝ Draa Valley ➝ Ouarzazate
Wake up early to admire the sunrise over the dunes. Return to the lodge for breakfast and shower. Depart for Ouarzazate, visiting the Rissani souk, then pass through Berber villages such as Alnif, Tazarine, and Nkob. Travel along the Draa Valley, visiting the Kasbah of Alkaid Ali in Tamnougalt, and cross the Tizi-n-Tinififft pass (1660 m). Arrival in Ouarzazate around 5:00 p.m. marks the end of the tour.
