A 20-Day Private Morocco Women's Tour with Time to Enjoy Each Place

This tailor-made Morocco escape for women is a broad introduction to the country, from the Rif Mountains to the Sahara and the Atlantic, with generous stays in selected places; it does not try to include every region or attraction.

It is a private departure for your booking party only: you choose the dates, the group is yours, and every arrangement is personalized. It suits friends, sisters, mothers and daughters, and any women traveling with their chosen companions. Most days are gently paced, but some transfers remain long, especially from Fes to Merzouga, and we say so plainly.

You travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle with an English-speaking driver, explore the cities with licensed guides and stay in thoughtfully chosen accommodation. The journey is planned by Hakim and Aziz, family members from Merzouga who lead Moroccan Desert Trips and have each worked in tourism for more than 15 years. Their desert roots shape the three Merzouga nights, from choosing the camp to timing the dunes. Read more about the Merzouga desert.

The Complete Women's Morocco Escape, Day by Day

Each day separates driving from sightseeing, walking and free time, with estimated transfer times and included, optional and suggested experiences clearly labeled.

Day 1

Arrive in Casablanca — A Relaxed Moroccan Welcome

Day 1 begins with a private airport transfer to your Casablanca hotel and time to settle in.

Your driver meets you at Casablanca Airport and takes you to your hotel. If everyone arrives early enough, take a stroll along the corniche or share a welcome dinner. A Hassan II Mosque visit is possible only if current visitor arrangements and your arrival time allow.

Key experiences

  • Private airport transfer (included)
  • Corniche stroll or welcome dinner (suggestion, time permitting)
  • Hassan II Mosque visit (optional, subject to visitor arrangements)

Pace: Arrival day; nothing essential scheduled.

Overnight: Casablanca

Day 2

Casablanca → Chefchaouen — Toward the Rif Mountains

Day 2 is a substantial transfer north into the Rif Mountains, with planned comfort and meal breaks.

Drive north after breakfast through farmland and into the hills. A brief stop in Rabat can be proposed where practical, but this is a travel day rather than a sightseeing day. Arrive in Chefchaouen with time to settle in.

Key experiences

  • Private air-conditioned transfer (included)
  • Meal and rest stops
  • Brief Rabat stop (optional, where practical)

Pace: Roughly 4.5 to 5.5 hours of driving, plus breaks (estimate).

Overnight: Chefchaouen

Day 3

Chefchaouen — Blue Lanes at Your Own Pace

Day 3 opens with an early walk through Chefchaouen's blue lanes and leaves the rest of the day free.

Set out after breakfast while the town wakes up; streets are often quieter early, though never guaranteed empty. The medina climbs a hillside with many steps, so we walk at a comfortable pace. Afterwards, enjoy cafés, photography and browsing on your own.

Key experiences

  • Early medina walk
  • Free time for cafés, photography and shops

Pace: Gentle, but with slopes and steps throughout.

Overnight: Chefchaouen

Day 4

Chefchaouen → Fes — Settle into the Imperial City

Day 4 is a moderate transfer to Fes with a relaxed arrival at your riad.

Drive south through the Rif foothills with breaks along the way. Any additional visit is assessed for how much it lengthens the day. Check in and take a short orientation walk, or simply rest.

Key experiences

  • Private transfer to Fes (included)
  • Short orientation walk (suggestion)

Pace: Roughly 3.5 to 4 hours of driving (estimate).

Overnight: Fes

Day 5

Fes — Medina Heritage with a Licensed Guide

Day 5 is a thoughtfully paced walk through the Fes medina with a licensed guide.

Explore selected monuments, lanes and traditional trades with your guide, with breaks for tea and lunch. Included entrances are listed in your quotation; other visits are optional. The late afternoon is free.

Key experiences

  • Licensed Fes medina guide (included)
  • Selected historic sights (included entrances as listed)
  • Free late afternoon

Pace: A morning on foot over uneven lanes; relaxed afternoon.

Overnight: Fes

Day 6

Fes — Artisan Encounters & Personal Time

Day 6 combines confirmed artisan visits or a cooking experience with protected free time.

Visit weavers, tile makers or other artisans at work, each confirmed in advance as a demonstration or a hands-on workshop, or join a cooking experience instead. Shopping is always optional. Keep the afternoon for rest, a hammam or wandering on your own.

Key experiences

  • Confirmed artisan visits (demonstration or hands-on)
  • Cooking experience (optional)
  • Free afternoon

Pace: Half a day of activity; half a day free.

Overnight: Fes

Day 7

Fes → Middle Atlas → Ziz Valley → Merzouga

Day 7 is one of the journey's longest road days, crossing the Middle Atlas to the edge of the Sahara.

Travel south through cedar forests and high plateaus, with meal, comfort and scenic breaks. Where timing permits, stop briefly around Ifrane, in Midelt or above the Ziz Valley. Arrive near Erg Chebbi in the evening for a quiet night at your hotel.

Key experiences

  • Private transfer to Merzouga (included)
  • Meal, comfort and scenic stops

Pace: A long day: roughly 7 to 8 hours of driving, plus breaks (estimate).

Overnight: Merzouga hotel or riad near the dunes

Day 8

Merzouga — Desert Discovery & Luxury Camp Night

Day 8 balances a little exploration with rest, then takes you into the dunes for sunset and a night in a luxury desert camp with a private bathroom.

Rest in the morning or, where it is arranged, visit Khamlia to hear Gnawa music or share tea with local hosts as invited guests. In the late afternoon, ride a camel or take a 4×4 into Erg Chebbi, according to preference and availability, and watch the dunes change color at sunset. Your luxury camp has a private bathroom in each tent, with facilities verified before booking; dinner and breakfast are specified in your quotation, and heating or air conditioning are confirmed separately.

Key experiences

  • Sunset by camel or 4×4 (included as agreed)
  • Luxury camp night with private bathroom (included)
  • Khamlia or local hosts (where confirmed)

Pace: An easy day; the desert sets the pace.

Overnight: Luxury desert camp in the Merzouga area

Day 9

Merzouga — Return to Hotel Comfort & Enjoy a Quiet Day

Day 9 is a recovery day: an optional sunrise, breakfast at camp, a short return to your hotel and very little else.

Wake early for sunrise over the dunes if you wish, then return to the hotel after breakfast. The rest of the day is yours: relax, take a short optional outing nearby, or use the pool if your hotel has one. Nothing else is planned.

Key experiences

  • Optional sunrise
  • Short return to the hotel (included)
  • Free day

Pace: Minimal driving; a deliberate rest day.

Overnight: Merzouga hotel or riad near the dunes

Day 10

Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

Day 10 heads west with a short, optional walk in the Todra Gorge and arrival in the Dades Valley.

Drive to Tinghir and stop at the Todra Gorge, where you can walk a little way between its high walls or simply admire it from the road. Continue with breaks to the Dades Valley.

Key experiences

  • Todra Gorge stop (walking optional)
  • Private transfer to Dades (included)

Pace: Roughly 5 hours of driving, plus stops (estimate). No strenuous hiking.

Overnight: Dades Valley

Day 11

Dades Valley → Skoura — Into the Palm Oasis

Day 11 is a comparatively short travel stage along the valley road to Skoura, with scenic stops and a relaxed arrival.

Follow the road past kasbahs and rose fields, stopping where the views invite, and arrive in Skoura early enough to enjoy your accommodation among the palms.

Key experiences

  • Scenic stops along the valley
  • Afternoon at your accommodation

Pace: Roughly 1.5 to 2 hours of driving (estimate).

Overnight: Skoura

Day 12

Skoura — A Full Day to Rest and Explore

Day 12 is an unhurried day in the oasis, with an optional guided palm-grove walk and a kasbah visit.

Walk the palm groves with a local guide, keeping to paths where access is permitted, since many plots are private farmland. Visit a selected kasbah, such as Kasbah Amridil where access is confirmed. The afternoon is flexible for reading, swimming where available or a long lunch.

Key experiences

  • Guided palm-grove walk (optional)
  • Kasbah visit, such as Kasbah Amridil (where access is confirmed)
  • Flexible afternoon

Pace: Easy and unhurried.

Overnight: Skoura

Day 13

Skoura → Ait Ben Haddou → Atlas Mountains

Day 13 crosses toward the High Atlas with a visit to Ait Ben Haddou, ending at a mountain lodge chosen to suit the onward route to Marrakech.

Stop at Ait Ben Haddou to explore the earthen ksar, then continue into the High Atlas. We propose a lodge along the Tizi n'Tichka road or in a nearby valley, selected only after checking the complete route, road access and accommodation, so that the drive is sensible and the next day's transfer to Marrakech stays manageable. Arrive with time to rest.

Key experiences

  • Ait Ben Haddou visit (local guide or entrance as agreed)
  • Private transfer to the Atlas (included)
  • Restful arrival

Pace: Roughly 3 to 4 hours of driving depending on the lodge, plus stops (estimate).

Overnight: Atlas Mountains

Day 14

Atlas Mountains — Gentle Village Walks & Mountain Quiet

Day 14 offers a gentle walk between villages with a local guide, adapted to your group, and plenty of time to rest.

Walk with your guide past terraced fields and earth-built villages, learning about Amazigh (Berber) mountain life through respectful, pre-arranged encounters. Terrain and walking time are confirmed once the lodge is chosen. A shorter route or a lodge day is always possible.

Key experiences

  • Guided village walk (optional)
  • Pre-arranged visit with local hosts, where available
  • Afternoon of rest

Pace: Gentle; walking time confirmed with the route.

Overnight: Atlas Mountains

Day 15

Atlas Mountains → Marrakech — Return to City Comfort

Day 15 is a transfer down to Marrakech and an easy afternoon at your riad, with a hammam later if you feel like it.

Descend from the mountains and settle into your riad. If timing and energy allow, a hammam appointment can be arranged for late afternoon; otherwise, keep the evening free.

Key experiences

  • Private transfer to Marrakech (included)
  • Hammam (optional, if timing allows)
  • Free evening

Pace: Roughly 1.5 to 2.5 hours of driving depending on the lodge (estimate).

Overnight: Marrakech

Day 16

Marrakech — Culture, Hammam & Personal Choice

Day 16 lets you choose your priorities: a short guided introduction to Marrakech, a pre-arranged hammam or optional spa treatments, and free time.

Rather than cramming a full city tour, shopping and several treatments into one day, pick what matters most. A licensed guide can lead a manageable introduction to selected sights; a hammam can be pre-arranged with privacy arrangements and treatment details confirmed; spa treatments are optional extras.

Key experiences

  • Licensed city guide for a short introduction (as specified)
  • Hammam package (if included)
  • Optional spa treatments (extra)

Pace: Choose one or two priorities; the rest is free.

Overnight: Marrakech

Day 17

Marrakech → Essaouira — Toward the Atlantic

Day 17 is a transfer west to Essaouira, with breaks and a relaxed arrival by the sea.

Drive across the plains to the coast, with a break along the way. Additional stops, such as an argan cooperative, are optional. Arrive in time for a first walk on the ramparts.

Key experiences

  • Private transfer to Essaouira (included)
  • Optional stop on the way
  • Relaxed evening

Pace: Roughly 2.5 to 3 hours of driving (estimate).

Overnight: Essaouira

Day 18

Essaouira — Medina Discovery & Coastal Leisure

Day 18 offers a gentle introduction to Essaouira's medina and harbor, then time for cafés, galleries and the beach.

Walk the whitewashed lanes and watch the fishing boats at the harbor, then spend the rest of the day at your own pace. Wind and sea conditions vary, so swimming is not always suitable.

Key experiences

  • Gentle medina and harbor introduction (as included)
  • Cafés, galleries and beach walk (suggestions)

Pace: Easy, mostly free.

Overnight: Essaouira

Day 19

Essaouira — A Free Day for Rest & Optional Spa Time

Day 19 is your last full day, kept free for whatever you choose.

Book a spa treatment, enjoy a long seafood lunch, browse the shops or do nothing at all. Spa treatments and other activities cost extra and need advance booking.

Key experiences

  • Optional spa treatments (extra, advance booking)
  • Leisurely meal or shopping (suggestions)

Pace: Entirely yours.

Overnight: Essaouira

Day 20

Departure — Farewell to Morocco

Day 20 ends with a private transfer to Essaouira Airport or by road to Marrakech Airport, according to your flights.

Essaouira Airport is a short drive away but has fewer flights. Marrakech Airport is roughly 3 hours by road (estimate), plus an airport buffer; very early flights may mean moving the final night to Marrakech. A return to Casablanca is assessed and quoted separately.

Key experiences

  • Private departure transfer (included, as agreed)

Pace: Timing depends on your flight.

No overnight included

Why Do the Longer Stays Matter?

Because they turn a long circuit into a journey you can actually enjoy: three Merzouga nights allow a hotel, camp, hotel rhythm, two Skoura nights give you a full oasis day, and two Atlas nights leave a whole day in the mountains.

Discovery balanced with unscheduled time

Guided days in Fes and Marrakech sit alongside free afternoons, a recovery day in the desert, an oasis day and a free day by the sea.

The coastal finale, described accurately

Three nights in Essaouira give you two full days plus your arrival and departure time, not three complete leisure days.

Being honest about the route

There is one single night in the Dades Valley, and several long transfers, especially Fes to Merzouga. If you would like to split that drive or spend more time in Marrakech, we can extend or revise the itinerary.

Compare tailor-made Morocco tours.

Accommodation and Your Travel Preferences

We propose boutique riads and comfortable hotels, an oasis property in Skoura, an Atlas lodge and a luxury desert camp, each confirmed subject to availability and checked for the facilities that matter to you.

Rooms and tents

Choose twin rooms, separate rooms or a mix; single supplements are shown in your quotation. Tent allocation at the camp is agreed in advance.

Facilities, verified individually

Bathrooms, stairs, heating, air conditioning, pools and accessibility are confirmed property by property. Medina riads often involve a walk from the vehicle and stairs.

Female guides, hosts and practitioners

Female guides, hosts or wellness practitioners can be requested, subject to confirmed availability. This does not mean an all-female operating team unless specifically arranged.

Practical support and privacy

Your driver is with you on travel days, our team is reachable by WhatsApp, and we can arrange separate rooms, private hammam sessions and quieter properties where available. As anywhere, we cannot guarantee absolute safety, but we plan carefully and share practical advice before you travel.
