5-Day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Fes Plan

Day 1 : Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Pick up at the hotel or riad. We will head towards the High Atlas, this range has the highest altitudes around North Africa. In the higher elevations in winter and well into spring, you can enjoy the snow. We will continue to the fortified city called Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1987 and where various famous movies have been made as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and The Mummy. We will arrive in Ouarzazate where the major film studios are all in Morocco. You will have dinner and spend the night in Ouarzazate.

Day 2 : Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges

After breakfast, we will spend the morning seeing the film studios where many films are taxed as The Wars, The Mummy, and Gladiator …Later we will depart to the Kasbah of Taourirt, a World Heritage Site, full of towers and walls. The Islamic and Jewish religions are mixed. We will continue down the road of Thousand Kasbash, through the great palm Skoura, accompanied by hundreds of Kasbash that we will see along the way. Let’s enter the Dades Valley and we will admire the hundreds of kasbahs dotted along the route. We will continue on the river road entering the narrow valley. We will make a stop to enjoy it. Here you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 3 : Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast we will depart through Todra Gorges, through the vast palm grove of Tinerhir, where agriculture stands out, date palms, and crafts … Later we will arrive at the gorge. Here we can see the spectacular landscape that for thousands of years has been forged thanks to the river that crosses it. Then we will drive to Merzouga, where will you leave your luggage at the hotel and will go to the desert by camel. Day 4 : Merzouga – Tour in the Dunes – Khamlia – Desert
